    Clomid in men

As we discussedlast time, in some men, FSH and/or LH production is low. This results in a low testosterone level as well as a very low sperm count. Once the urologist has eliminated an anatomic cause for the problem, we can treat these men with clomiphene citrate (Clomid), the same drug that we give women who are not ovulating correctly. When given to men, Clomid causes an increase in FSH and LH secretion– leading to an increase in both sperm production and testosterone secretion. Guys may need to take Clomid for at least 3-4 months to see the optimal effect, as it takes 90-108 or so days from the time a sperm is made until it is ejaculated. Clomid comes in 50 mg tablets and the typical starting dose for a man is either 50 mg every other day or 25 mg daily. About three weeks after a man starts taking Clomid, we will recheck his FSH, LH, and testosterone levels to make sure that they are not too high. (Clomiphene Citrate) Clomid (Clomiphene Citrate) is a powerfully effective anti-estrogen officially classified as a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator (SERM). In many ways, it is very similar to another popular SERM in Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate). Clomid first gained worldwide attention in the early 1970’s as a strong fertility aid and is still used for that purpose today. It is also one of the most commonly used SERM’s by anabolic steroid users. No, it is not an anabolic steroid but can be used to combat estrogenic side effects sometimes caused by anabolic steroids. It can also be used as a Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) medication in order to stimulate suppressed testosterone production due to anabolic steroid use. PCT use of Clomid is the most common purpose and most beneficial point of use for the anabolic steroid user.

Clomifene is sometimes used in the treatment of male hypogonadism as an alternative to testosterone replacement therapy. It has been found to increase testosterone levels by 2- to 2.5-fold in hypogonadal men. Clomifene has been used in the treatment of gynecomastia. Clomiphene citrate effects on testosterone/estrogen ratio in male hypogonadism. Shabsigh A1, Kang Y, Shabsign R, Gonzalez M, Liberson G, Fisch H, Goluboff E. METHODS Our cohort consisted of 36 Caucasian men with hypogonadism defined as serum testosterone level less than 300 ng/dL. Each patient was treated with a daily dose of 25 mg. Because Clomid indirectly boosts testosterone levels in men, it can be used to treat infertility that results from low testosterone production. Clomid for Male Infertility Clomid is typically taken once a day, with a staring dose of 25 mg per day.

Less common effects (1-10% of people) include visual symptoms (blurred vision, double vision, floaters, eye sensitivity to light, scotomata), headaches, vasomotor flushes (or hot flashes), light sensitivity and pupil constriction, abnormal uterine bleeding and/or abdominal discomfort. Clomifene can lead to multiple ovulation, hence increasing the chance of twins (10% of births instead of ~1% in the general population) and triplets. Some studies have suggested that clomifene citrate if used for more than a year may increase the risk of ovarian cancer. The incidence of fetal and neonatal abnormalities for patients on clomifene for fertility is similar to that seen in the general population. There is no data to suggest a higher rate of congenital anomalies or spontaneous abortions after using this drug. Compared to letrozole, another drug used for ovarian stimulation, a study found no significant difference in the rate of overall abnormalities, but found that congenital cardiac anomalies was significantly higher in the clomifene group compared to the letrozole group. Clomifene is a nonsteroidal SERM that inhibits estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus, inhibiting negative feedback of estrogen on gonadotropin release, leading to up-regulation of the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal axis. Hi Mark, What is your opinion of Clomid as an option to boost low testosterone? I am 32 years and have been suffering low testosterone for more that 15 years; mainly caused by an over masturbation binge during my puberty years. This resulted in atrophied genitals and erectile dysfunction. I have started using Tongkat Ali, Avena Sativa, Horny Goat Weed, Tribulus and Yohimbe along with nettle root and Chrysin. These have improved my condition, however, my testicles are still very small and I still have erectile dysfunction. I have just purchased Axis HT to improve my condition. My bodybuilding friends mentioned that Clomid will be the solution to my problems, as it will increase testicle size and reduce gyno. Could you help me out with my problems and let me know if I need Clomid? Also, should I take Axis HT for a week and then cycle the other natural testosterone boosters or do I use it along with the cycle.

I've been thinking of using tamoxifen to boost my testosterone levels. But clomid would be better for that use in my opinion. The reduced estrogen levels would produce less negative feedback inhibition to the HPTA, thus leading to increased testosterone production. My opinion is you don't need the pharmaceutical anti-estrogens unless you're using pharmaceutical androgens. I've found a few studies that confirm this (see below for links). I would stick to M and Tribex and perhaps Red-Kat if you're going to remain natural and want to give your endocrine system a boost. As you say, it's only been found in women, mostly elderly. But only one abstract I found mentions the degree of increased T: about a 150% increase in total and free T (in 9 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia). And the increased chance of cateracts appears to be small. Has anybody here tried using only an anti-estrogen for strength/bulking/dieting? Are there any other reasons besides cateracts why you wouldn't recommend long term tamoxifen or clomiphene use? cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=3123401- cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=6193975- cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=640052- cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=7250160- cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=6785950- cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=6404663 Thanks for any insight. That being said, you could probably benefit from using it for a cycle of say 4-6 weeks.
